Mission: To promote and provide excellence in the delivery of
emergency medical services to Livingston County.
Vision: A premier emergency medical services system that integrates
all levels of EMS resources to deliver quality patient care.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is the pre-hospital treatment and transportation
of the sick and injured. In Livingston County, EMS is provided by integrating
13 transporting ambulance services, 2 fire department first responder agencies,
volunteer and proprietary Advanced Life Support (ALS) and the SUNY-Geneseo Emergency
Squad on the college campus.
The Center for EMS coordinates many levels of EMS education and training, through
an agreement with the New York State Department of Health and through coordination
with the American Red Cross and American Heart Association.
Center for EMS coordinates efforts to enhance and improve the recruitment of EMS
volunteers in concert with the individual EMS agency recruitment programs.
Center for EMS works closely with the Livingston County 911 Center Coordinator
and the Livingston County Emergency Management Director to effectively and efficiently
provide an integrated EMS system encompassing law enforcement, dispatch and fire
services.
Center for EMS plays an integral role in the on-going development and improvement
of the educational and delivery of services aspects of EMS through coordination
with the Monroe-Livingston Regional EMS Council.
